Rain delay

Typical. Bloody typical. Murphy seems to be conspiring against us at the moment. We've managed to move about a tonne of gravel into the back and have poured a bit of concrete. Well, pour isn't an accurate term but at least we have the rest of the footings down and set. Everything yesterday seemed to take twice as long. It didn't help having to make an extra trip to return a defective jig saw, which wasted a couple of hours. Today its rain. Lots of rain. Too wet to move gravel. Too wet to put down the concrete. What to do with a wasted rain delay day.

Back in June / July we trundled off to Lords to watch the cricket. We managed 40 minutes of play over 6 hours and spent the rest of the time either watching the hovercover being dragged on and off the pitch or in the Pimms tent. I wish I had one of these gizmos. http://www.stuartcanvas.co.uk/sports/cricket/the_hover_cover.html Oh well, maybe we'll just spend the rest of the day under the patio umbrella with a jug of Pimms instead.
