Rain rain go away
Once again a weekend of rain has slowed things down. We have managed to get around 1/3 of the concrete down but still have around 70 bags of the stuff sitting in the front garden. The distortion caused by the zoom lens in the picture makes it look nearly half filled but the empty bit is still twice the size of the finished part. Although, it feels like the remaining section is about 10 times the size it really is. Its really slow going as we have to put down 4 or 5 bags, level and smooth it in place, and finally water it twice at 2 hour intervals. Then its wait until the previous section has hardened before adding more. Very tedious and slow going. Sort of like listening to a Gordon Brown speech.
Even with all the rain and wet conditions we have only lost bits of bags so far where a damp spot has hardened. With some luck we are hoping to get more done during the week and finish off next weekend. Yippee. Then again the weather forecast is saying dry for most of the week and rain again by the weekend. D'oh!
