I've got the shed blues.

This is going to be another one of those bus like drive by bloggings. You wait for ever and several come along at once.

When we put the shed in last November we were told it would need a refresh of stain after the first 6 months. Rather than go through the ritual of re-staining every year we decided to splash out on a 5 year coloured stain/preservative. We settled on a nice fairly neutral subdued shade of blue called 'Barleywood'. So far so good. Things are starting to return to normal and we are making a bit of progress. I've even managed to finish insulating the walls. Finally!! That was an on and off job that took 3 1/2 months to do.

What the hell is that? Once on the shed the colour is anything but neutral and subdued. This looks nothing like the sample or the lid of the tin. I've been told it will fade and calm down fairly quickly. For the moment though we have what looks like a Brighton beach hut in our garden.

The old bbq and all the other crap in the picture is being piled up prior to being carted off to the local tip along with the old fence posts and panels. By the end of this week another tonne of dung will have been shifted out of the heap.
