The past few days has seen a major upheaval in the back garden. Plant pots have been moved, and moved again, and again, and again. Half the fence has been painted, part of the path dug up.........
Phew I'm tired just typing all that.
Today's update is the fence again.
RC and I made a start on staining the fence. SWMBO hath decreed it shall be green. Green it is.
This stain (Cuprinol Shades) is the strangest stuff I've ever worked with. It looks teal in the tin. When it goes on the fence it turns a strange light blue colour. once it dries it finally goes dark green.
The original plan was to brush paint the gate and a few bits and to get a pump sprayer to do the rest. I'm now convinced the paint manufacturers have developed a sprayer that is designed to use 5 times the amount of stain that brushing does. After p*ssing away the best part of 2 litres on one fence panel we went back to the tried and tested method of brush painting. Cuprinol advert This evil b*stard is only laughing because he either owns shares in the company or he is thinking of all the poor suckers that will spend an extra £80 in wasted stain doing their fence.
